What is a tuber?

Tubers can be thought of as stored energy from which new plants grow. They are often a fleshy--dark brown color, spherical, and have a small opening on top for new plants to grow from. Tubers generally range from about the size of a pea to about the size of a golf ball. Most of the time, smaller tubers will be more prolific than larger tubers. On rare occasion a tuber will have several sprouts, this is referred to as a super tuber. Every new plant generated will be identical.

What is a vivip?

Vivip is short for viviparous. It is a plant that originates from the center of the foliage of another plant. Every new plant generated will be identical.
